Project Finance
Our dedicated Project Finance team works with both the public and private sectors on a range of procurement models including private finance initiatives and public private partnerships, creating and delivering bespoke solutions which can only be achieved by working in partnership with our clients. From local authorities and other governmental agencies to private sector partners and funders, the scope of projects covers a wide range of areas such as renewables, waste, health, transport, regeneration, technology, ports, airports, defense, energy, utilities, the criminal justice system, emergency services, shared services, outsourcing and e-government. By providing impartial advice – independent from financing sources – our multi-disciplinary project finance team acts as a single source of expertise for any transaction. This enables you to use our sector insight and knowledge to leverage relationships with key players in banks, capital markets, institutional investors and government. Our clear understanding of current attitudes to credit, pricing and structure is balanced by our experience in both the public and private sectors and our understanding of different perspectives. Services include feasibility studies, preparation of business cases, risk analysis, PSC development, drafting of documentation, development of payment mechanism, bid evaluation, procurement support, negotiation support, financing, funding competitions and tax advice. Areas of Expertise Experience has shown that client needs are best served when specialist advisers, rather than generalists, bring their depth of experience to a project. In practice, this means that our multi-skilled team has railway engineers, roads experts, waste management specialists and property surveyors – those who best understand the client’s business – as well as the accountants, economists and tax advisers who assist in devising a financial package tailored to each client. Our commitment to developing a common understanding of a client’s goals can at times involve the secondment of our staff to the client’s enterprise, allowing an even more single-minded, hands-on approach that helps ensure that a project is delivered appropriately, efficiently and cost-effectively. Service Streams Our Project Finance team offers advisory services that fall into two broad categories: services to public sector institutions, such as local authorities and government departments, aimed at enabling them to complete a procurement process successfully; and services to private sector entities, such as banks, businesses and consortia, preparing them to engage in bidding for work on such projects. For our clients, we offer advice and solutions in the following areas: strategy; financial assessment; process and delivery; transaction support; and performance management.
